FTA Charity Drives
Walkathon: 2003
Making Strides Against Breast Cancer

The FREEPORT TEACHERS ASSOCIATION WALK was a huge success with over 70 walkers! The building captains in each school did much to contribute to this success.

Once again, thanks to:
Archer: Karen Lettsome,. Atkinson: Joan Weber, Bayview:Jan Wisnowski, Columbus: Miriam Muniz, Dodd: Judi Summers, and New Visions: Jennifer Thearle.

FTA marchers, proudly wore spiffy white jerseys tee-shirts with a bright
blue square on the front with the pink ribbon in the middle. The back
displayed Nassau NYSUT along with Freeport Teacher's Association
affiliation. The FHS Interact Club, under the sponsorship of Wendy Lindner joined us with 11 walkers.

Freeport Teachers raised over 8,000 dollars! $2000 more than last year!!!!

These are the tallies for each school: Archer $2,225, Dodd was responsible for $1,485, Giblyn raised $1,320, Bayview, $717, Columbus at $559, monies from Atkinson were $330 and misc. $419. The Inter Act Club raised close to $1,100. All the participants felt that this was a great experience despite the rain.
